Doug Pan, PhD

Vice President of Agentic AI Engineering

Doug brings over 30 years of accomplished engineering leadership and technical innovation to LifeWave. As the VP of Agentic AI Engineering, he leads the development of the agentic system-of-care for heart failure patient management in the home.

A veteran of the Silicon Valley software ecosystem, Doug spent 14 years at Marin Software, rising from Director to Senior Vice President of Engineering. During this tenure, he was the operational force behind the engineering organization, leading the teams that developed and scaled high-volume ML and Agentic AI solutions through the company’s NYSE IPO and its subsequent transition into the Trilogy/ESW Capital portfolio.

Throughout his career, Doug has been a key architect at several high-growth technology companies with successful public exits. His leadership record includes serving as Senior Director at TuVox, which was acquired by West Interactive (NASDAQ IPO).  As Chief Engineer at Agility Design Solutions, he led the development of customer-facing interfaces and pioneered the use of virtualization and cross-platform build systems to ensure rigorous product quality.

Doug’s foundational experience includes serving as a Staff Engineer on the Purify team (Pure Software) during its rapid scaling and 1995 IPO, contributing to the industry-standard memory error detection tool later acquired by IBM Rational. He also spent nearly a decade as Co-Founder and VP of Engineering of Talkway, a streaming platform for Global 500 clients backed and directly advised by legendary venture capitalist Franklin “Pitch” Johnson.

Doug earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He holds dual B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was named a Tau Beta Pi Fellow.
