Yakov is an AI systems architect and inventor with 20+ years pioneering safety-critical and production AI systems—from CNN-based radar detection systems protecting troops to biologically-inspired algorithms for medical devices and low-hallucination GenAI architectures at enterprise scale. His work in safety-critical applications includes peer-reviewed publications in computer vision and medical devices, 10 invention disclosures in GenAI, agentic AI, edge inference, and predictive safety, and recent provisional patent filings on model distillation and small language model output control for biomedical applications.
He holds a PhD and MA in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a BS in Engineering Physics from Cornell University. ( 1st in his class in the School of Engineering)
